When I read the story of a 14 hand chestnut mare that was committed to service, obedience, sacrifice, and loyalty, I fell in love with her & her story immediately! The reason I fell in love with this horse & her story is because she is a perfect example to us on how to have an amazing heart!! I started this blog because I enjoy writing about life on the ranch, people that I love, things God lays on my heart, and funny stories that hopefully brighten your day.  I will have posts on my childhood, motherhood, being a teacher, falling in love, crazy horse stories, crazy people stories, and crazy animal stories.  I love to sit around and tell stories so why not write them also. lol Memories… mine all started on a Canadian wheat farm.  Our land skirted the edge of the prairies near the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.  Dad was a fourth generation farmer, his Russian Mennonite great grandfather homesteaded 160 acres of free Alberta land near the town of Didsbury.  My parents were wheat farmers until I was ten years old, that is when my dad gave up farming in Canada for the dream of becoming a dentist in the United States.  We moved back to Oklahoma where my mother’s relatives were located.  After finishing high school 1995 I began college at Nort...

Twin Springs Ranch Legacy Several years ago, I went to a cowboy church, and the pastor was a counselor who was doing equine therapy. I was very interested in it, and I volunteered to help him. We did some neat ministry and even got to spend time doing equine therapy in Seneca Missouri with the Eastern Shawnee tribe. These were trips and people I will never forget! In the back of my mind, I thought, Wow, this is amazing how God can use horses to minister to people. I would love to do this!  Fast forward a few years, and my daughter was the equine director at Teen Challenge Adventure Ranch in Marrow Arkansas. I got to volunteer and go with them on campouts with the horses and boys. Eventually they sent her to equine therapy training for staff development. I signed up for the training and went with her and loved every minute of it. Again, I thought, Wow, it would be awesome to do this.
